UTS axes its Chinese medicine course
Degree had 'poor' financial viability, research productivity and strategic fit with the university

After more than 25 years, the traditional Chinese medicine degree offered by the University of Technology Sydney is to be axed.

The decision to close the course at the end of 2021 came after a review found the program had poor financial viability and failed to provide enough research output.
It also no longer fitted within the “strategic direction” the faculty of science was taking, according to a statement on the university's website outlining the review outcome.
