This week saw the launch of Australia’s first voluntary euthanasia regime.
In a world bloated with hyperbole, it is at least true to say that it is a historic moment for the medical profession.
Below we show the process patients will have to navigate to end their lives.
But we have have illustrated the steps with the stories of those who will be involved: from the palliative care GP and the ‘care navigators’ to the hospital pharmacist tasked with dispensing the lethal drug and the doctor prepared to administer it.
