Watchdog investigates ‘fake’ paramedic and his ambulance

The CEO of a first-aid training company is under investigation amid allegations he modified a ute to look like a NSW Ambulance and created a “misleading impression” of being a paramedic.
Last week, the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) banned Andreas Pantziaros from providing any health services while it investigates complaints that he provided paramedic and ambulance services through his company Medic Corp Ambulance.
Medic Corp Ambulance advertises itself as a first-aid training provider, as well as a consultant in safety audits and providing paramedic services at events.
The HCCC said it had received information that Mr Pantziaros was misleading the public by creating the impression he was a NSW Ambulance paramedic, despite never being registered as a NSW Ambulance paramedic, and that Medic Corp Ambulance was affiliated with NSW Ambulance.
