A medical watchdog has issued a high-profile GP with an official warning, telling him to “maintain constructive communication” after he gave an innocuous media interview on the menace of COVID-19 misinformation.

Dr Simon Holliday was contacted by the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) last October saying it had upheld a complaint that he had made “judgmental and unprofessional comments about Liberals over 60”.

The evidence provided by the unnamed complainant consisted of screen grabs of an interview the GP had given to his local paper, the Manning River Times.

In the article, Dr Holliday cited his experience of six patients over 60 “bullying their way in” to his clinic demanding the Pfizer mRNA vaccine.
