‘We are in panic mode’: GPs still waiting for payroll tax amnesty confirmation

This story has been updated with a response from the Queensland Revenue Office.
GP practices that applied for Queensland’s payroll tax amnesty are still waiting on a “black-and-white” answer as to whether they have met the requirements, AMA Queensland says.
Practices that were audited and issued a payroll tax bill are also awaiting confirmation from the Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) that the bills are being waived, says AMA Queensland president Dr Nick Yim, a GP.
“Some of the practices we are hearing from are concerned they may still be liable for backdated payroll tax bills,” he told AusDoc.
