The medical profession has become familiar with the news stories on the crisis in private healthcare.

Private hospitals say their future is in peril. Health funds are making fat profits, they claim, but refusing to hand over the money necessary to keep the doors open.

Running parallel are the accusations against doctors themselves — those apparently rorting the system with unjustified gap fees.

What do the health funds think? Is this the way they see the sector?
