‘We just want to visit the children’: These GPs want to retire but can’t
Dr Di and Dr Clem have been practising in Warialda since 1989.

GP husband-and-wife duo Dr Diana Coote and Dr Clement Gordon have worked in the same small town for 36 years.
Now in their 70s with 12 grandchildren, retirement should be on the horizon.
But they have spent almost five years trying to find another doctor for their town of Warialda, in northern NSW, with no success.
“Our four children in Brisbane told us to give it away,” Dr Coote says.
