‘We need a f**king medivac now – we’ve got a triple amputee’: GP describes life and death on the battlefield

Dr Dan Pronk is a GP in the Adelaide Hills.
But he honed his medical skills in Afghanistan, where he completed four tours and more than 100 combat missions working in Special Operations Units as an army doctor.
He’s since talked about how his experiences have coloured his view of death, which he began to treat as an emotionless “logistic problem”.
Back in Australia, he didn’t visit his dying father because he was so absorbed with work, he says.
