In the same month that the state’s hospital-based RNs received a historic pay rise, the NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association has launched its Primary Health Care Branch to represent the specific interests of GP practice nurses.
The first dedicated branch in Australia has been five years in the making.
Practice nurse Annabel Wood approached the union with her idea for representation back during COVID-19, when primary care nurses seemed to be battling on their own.
