‘What if I come to you?’: Meet the GP who’s built her one-woman clinic on home visits
Three months ago, rural generalist Dr Stefanie Hammond stepped away from traditional general practice with a vision for something different: a fully mobile home-visit model.
“I found a group of people, particularly elderly and disabled people, who had limited access to care or support with getting to medical appointments,” she tells AusDoc.
“Their care was incredibly disjointed, and they were using a lot of telehealth.
“This was a way of me saying, ‘What if I come to you?’”
