Where is Dr Chant? Alarm at chief health officer’s no-show at Govt media briefing

One of Australia’s top epidemiologist has expressed “shock” at the absence of the NSW chief health officer at a government press briefing revealing plans to dramatically ease COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
Professor Marylouise McLaws also says she’s “disappointed” at a suggestion the government may not continue to provide daily COVID-19 case numbers.
Her comments came in response to the announcement by the new NSW Premier, Dominic Perrottet, that he will accelerate the easing of lockdown restrictions, which include bringing forward school re-opening, easing mask requirements and increasing caps on visitors to homes and at events.
The AMA is already warning of more deaths if the government goes ahead.
