IMG stuck in limbo as tribunals disagree on who should hear her case against the medical board
An IMG seeking limited registration in Australia was told by a Queensland tribunal to take her case to NSW — where she was told to take her case back to Queensland.
Dr Mamatha Meddeneni was told in February that the NSW board of the Medical Board of Australia had rejected her application for registration for postgraduate training or supervised practice but that she could appeal.
The NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) said AHPRA had advised Dr Meddeneni to lodge her appeal in Queensland because she lived there.
The tribunal did not explain why the application had been rejected nor why the NSW board had dealt with it.
