Why Cochrane got it badly wrong: Aussie expert unpicks ‘pro-vaping’ review

Last month, an updated Cochrane review found “high-certainty evidence” that nicotine e-cigarettes are far more effective smoking cessation tools than traditional nicotine replacement therapy.

UK researchers also say there was no evidence as yet of serious harm with nicotine vaping products.

Is this the legitimacy the vaping industry needed?

University of Sydney’s Emeritus Professor Simon Chapman, a well-known campaigner for tobacco restrictions, tells AusDoc the Cochrane approach is flawed and ill-equipped to deal with the issue of vaping.
