Dr Shea Wilcox estimates his practice has administered AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine to 200 patients under 40 since Tuesday morning and he expects similar numbers next week. 

Based in Melbourne’s trendy inner north, the practice attracts a younger cohort of patients than many.

There is a waiting-room DJ, while patients who call for an appointment are greeted with a phone answering message featuring a beatbox backing track. 

While some people including Queensland’s Chief Health Officer have declared that no-one under the age of 40 should be administered the AstraZeneca vaccine, Dr Wilcox says his patients are well informed about the potential risks.
