Why this GP wants emergency lights and sirens for his sports car

A GP is campaigning to have his Nissan GT-R sports car fitted with lights and sirens, arguing he needs a safety measure when attending emergencies.
Dr Michael Livingston is a rural generalist who covers a group of isolated towns on WA’s south coast.
But he says his life is being put at risk when responding to urgent call-outs because his transport is his own car, with nothing to identify it as an emergency vehicle.
“The point is, if I’m behind you in your car trying to overtake you, you won’t know what my intention is, and people just think I’m a hoon,” he said.
