A prominent GP is calling on the RACGP to fund an advertising campaign that encourages patients to see a GP instead of a telehealth clinic or pharmacist.
Almost 10 years after the RACGP’s opinion-splitting Specialist in Life campaign, Dr Max Mollenkopf wants to see another advertising blitz promoting general practice.
“At the moment, a lot of messaging in the community is about accessing care regardless of who the practitioner is,” the NSW GP told AusDoc.
“Pharmacists are doing a good job of promoting their healthcare offerings, state governments are doing a good job of promoting nurse-led clinics, and the local health districts are also promoting a series of clinics delivering different types of care.
