Today marks the biggest financial injection into GP bulk-billing in Medicare’s history, according to Minister for Health and Aged Care Mark Butler.
Whether this translates to more GPs bulk-billing is an open question, but Mr Butler thinks it will.
“Starting today, we’re making it easier to see a bulk-billing doctor,” he tweeted this morning.
“This means it will be easier to find a bulk-billing doctor for around five million children and their families and seven million pensioners and other concession card holders.”
