A woman who allegedly pretended to be a doctor and issued hundreds of fake “exemption certificates” for COVID-19 testing, vaccinations and mask wearing has been charged with impersonating a health practitioner.

On Wednesday, the Queensland Police Service executed a search warrant at an address in the Gold Coast suburb of Labrador where a 45-year-old Darling Heights woman was arrested.

She was charged under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law with five counts of taking a title indicating a person is a health practitioner.

The woman is the first person in Queensland to be charged with this offence.
