Women develop HIV after ‘vampire facial’ microneedling treatments, report says

At least three women were diagnosed with HIV after undergoing a ‘vampire facial’ in a US spa, probably due to poorly cleaned instruments, the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has reported.

Between 2018 and 2023, a cluster of clients who had the skin treatments done at a centre in New Mexico developed HIV, the report finds.
