This week, aviation history was made, when Qantas flight QF7879 became the world’s longest-ever commercial flight.

Six pilots teamed up to complete the mammoth feat, working in shifts to carefully ensure their fatigue was appropriately managed.1

Specialist sleep scientists and doctors closely observed the crew throughout, with wearable bracelets monitoring their vital signs, EEG monitoring to monitor alertness and frequent urine samples to determine their melatonin levels.

Careful monitoring ensured that the 50 passengers and crew safely touched down on a sunny Sydney Sunday as Project Sunrise recorded its greatest achievement.
