Dear Santa,

I hope you haven’t been struggling with heat waves in the North Pole, which would so upset the reindeer and your important work with the elves. 

And I do hope that you are not considering retirement, as are apparently a third of my colleagues — both those of similar-looking vintage to you, as well as, surprisingly enough, some of the younger, disillusioned set.  

It’s crazy times out there, eh?
