Albanese and Dutton scrub up for a Medicare face-off, but there’s more at stake in this election
With the first full week of the election campaign health has already become a key battleground for votes alongside tackling cost-of-living pressures.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is doubling down on Medicare, using a recent Brisbane visit — in none other than Peter Dutton’s seat of Dickson — to promote his government’s Urgent Care Clinics.
There was also an appearance in Perth to unveil $200 million in funding for a public hospital upgrade.
And as we know, last week’s federal budget injected $8.5 billion into bulk-billing, cut prescription costs and expanded the number of Urgent Care Clinics being built.
