A coroner wants doctors to treat patients in ambulances — it’s a terrible idea

How much attention do you pay to coroners’ recommendations?

In general, we notice them if they are publicised in the media — especially in relation to a tragic story such as the death of a child.

We also tend to notice them if they have the potential to affect the way we do our work (if compulsorily applied).

These thoughts crossed my mind as I read an AusDoc article about a coroner who warned the health system was tearing itself apart over ambulance ramping.
