CPD is pointless: Here’s the personal experiment that confirmed my belief

At the end of each year, I find myself rushing around helping colleagues summon up enough CPD points to maintain their registration.

It makes a nonsense out of the premise that CPD ensures doctors are keeping up to date with medical developments.

We once had three years to gather enough points to maintain registration. I still don’t understand the Medical Board of Australia’s rationale for moving to a yearly CPD cycle.

Regardless, personally, I don’t see the point in a pseudo-mandated facilitation of learning.
