Doctors are like matadors: we learn most from our worst mistakes

There has been a lot of stuff in the press about some tall poppy doctors whose reputations and skills have taken a battering.

The stories are shared by TV and print media and seem to be repeated with the odd bit of new information.

I have had a bit to do with some of these doctors, so I have opinions of them that I don’t propose to air.

But they have been food for thought. And they have described cases where there are apparent bad outcomes and issues regarding consent.
