Eyes were a wondrous mystery to me as a young doctor — and they still are

There’s something about eyes.

Something mysterious and magical.

It’s not just that they let us see. It’s more than that. They tell others about us. Maybe they really are the windows to the soul.

I learnt none of this at medical school.
