My mea culpa: Practice accreditation must be fixed or scrapped

Fix practice accreditation or scrap it

You can call this a mea culpa, if you like.

If accreditation doesn’t secure the future of general practice, or ensure patient safety or quality of care, it needs to be fixed or replaced with a more dynamic, flexible, evidence-based approach.

Practices, patients and taxpayers deserve better.

Accreditation is one of several initiatives aimed at enhancing GP care and equipping general practice to respond to emerging trends, challenges and opportunities.
