From the archives: How Tina Turner saved more lives than me in the town of Tara

This week came news that Tina Turner, dubbed the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, died aged 83 at her home in Switzerland.
Regarded as one of the greatest entertainers of all time, she also helped break the silence surrounding domestic violence when she talked publicly in 1981 about the shocking physical and psychological abuse she experienced from her husband Ike Turner.
She was an inspiration to many — including Professor Cliff Rosendahl.
Here we republish his story about Tina and his time working as a GP in rural Queensland back in the ‘70s.
