GPs can help tame the NDIS beast, so why are we an afterthought?

As GPs, we have an integral role to play in coordinating the care of our patients.

This is a role we are used to doing for our patients with chronic illness.

However, with disability and the NDIS, GPs appear to be an afterthought.

There are also some significant equity concerns, where the complex nature of the NDIS beast means that those who need the most care often struggle to access it.
