Greedy doctors? The enormous salaries of health fund CEOs are far beyond what we could ever hope to make

Associate Professor Gino Pecoraro.

The mainstream media was once more awash with accusations of doctor greed last week.

The alleged perpetrators this time were obstetricians, but as we know, there have been many other specialist groups singled out for public admonishment by private health insurers recently.

Last week’s claims came from Dr Rachel David (PhD), CEO of Private Healthcare Australia, the insurers national lobby group, who sent out a media release noting that obstetricians had the highest out-of-pocket fees of all doctors.

She was not happy, referring to out-of-pocket fees reaching up to $10,000 in some major cities.
