How the updated reporting laws will affect GPs

It’s a shame that misunderstanding and misinformation has clouded discussion of recent National Law amendments about mandatory notifications.1
The changes to the law aim to remove barriers and help doctors access the medical and psychological care they may need and allow us to support each other as a profession.
They took effect on 1 March and are now a part of our everyday medical lives.
The most constructive thing we can do as a profession is understand our responsibilities and share that knowledge with our colleagues. Accurate information is the best way to reassure doctors it is safe to seek help.
