I hate telehealth: Sometimes it feels like I am being sucked into my computer

Dr Ashlea Broomfield

I hate telehealth.

If there was a magical Tardis that could transport the patients who need it into my room at the exact time of our consultation, overcoming any barrier to seeing them in person, I would definitely opt in for that.

As a GP, I view myself as an embodied and relational professional. I work, assess, diagnose and treat through my senses.

I connect with my patients through a therapeutic relationship — earned mutual trust and respect.
