IMGs are crucial to Australia — we must remove the roadblocks

Australia has relied on international medical graduates to meet the healthcare needs of its population. 

In 2021 for instance, more than 52% of Australia’s GPs were IMGs. 

Migration of overseas-qualified doctors is absolutely essential to addressing the shortfall in specialist GP labour.

As we move forward, it’s critical we address the roadblocks and challenges they face.
