The RACGP has, again, changed its definition of general practice to accommodate so-called non-traditional models of the specialty.

This was not simply a philosophical exercise.

It was to decide which practices would fall within the National General Practice Accreditation Scheme and, with that, the money the government is meant to provide as incentives for delivering quality care.

Published last year, it meant your traditional five-GP practice in regional Victoria. It also meant that only services in an aged care facility could be included.
