My deranged body clock won’t let me stay up beyond 7pm

Dr Pam Rachootin.

I’ve always been someone who has naturally gone to bed early.

In high school, I would attack my homework promptly, so that I could have the luxury of an early night, preferably retiring around 8.30pm.

In those days, I needed around 10 hours of sleep to feel rested.

As a university student doing my first degree and living in a dorm, parties extended late into the night, and, if I made the extreme effort to attend, I became slaphappy from being up past my normal bedtime.
