My friends invited me for brunch — I got eggs with a side of GP bashing
I recently encountered a situation that highlighted how normalised microaggressions towards doctors have become, particularly from alternative medicine advocates.
I found myself feeling oddly alone in the company of friends.
For context, while in England on my ‘gap’ year, I travelled six hours to meet an old high-school friend I hadn’t seen in over a decade. Armed with homemade cupcakes and good intentions, I joined him, his wife and their infant for brunch.
But what I didn’t expect was to be served a critique of my profession alongside my eggs.
