My magical holiday: Patients, palpitations and a needle-happy sister-in-law

I was officially on holiday, having scheduled a mighty four days off to coincide with a short visit from my husband’s siblings and their respective spouses from overseas.
Of course, it never works out that way as a solo practitioner, especially one without a locum.
I would need to triage callers.
Within the first hour of the first day of my holiday, I had a patient reporting that she had tested positive for COVID.
