My patients are booking consults because they fear AI is about to take their jobs

I’ve started noticing something in my consulting room that I didn’t have a neat name for a year ago.

A software engineer whose blood pressure won’t settle. A project manager who can’t sleep. A senior executive assistant with headaches that clear up the moment she takes leave.

Different jobs, different symptoms — but the same story underneath: AI has arrived at their workplace, and nobody’s quite told them how to live with it.

I don’t think this is hysteria, and I don’t think it’s the whole story either.
