Pay GPs to work slower? Yeah, nah, try my plan

The concept of setting a minimum time for GPs to complete a management plan under a team care arrangement is preposterous.
There, I said it. And here’s why.
This time-punch idea has been suggested by the government’s Medicare Review Taskforce, which, as part of its remit, aims to find efficiencies, improve the quality of primary care and increase access for patients to their regular GP.
However, this arbitrary time concept screams of bureaucratic thought bubbles and academic rancour rather than practical support for useful, structured quality care.
