Puzzling out the secret to work-life balance, or how I learnt to say no

After 10 years dedicated to medical training, I had no hobbies.

Studying in my spare time.
Thinking a break was going to courses and conferences for my ‘time off’.
Reading articles in the evening.

Thinking in my downtime about how I could do my job better.
How I could be a better doctor.
What could potentially go wrong.
How I could mitigate that risk by doing more.
Being more.

When I was younger, I loved reading.
Reading was my way of understanding people.
Understanding humanity.
