His view is important because he sees the system firsthand as the head of one of the main accreditation agencies – Quality Practice Accreditation.

Below, he argues the need for fundamental change.

He claims both GPs and patients would be better served by a revamped system based on desktop audits and continual assessments rather than a visit once every three years.
