Having now completed my 2023 CPD requirements for the Medical Board of Australia’s accreditation process, I thought I might try to determine just what it cost me to satisfy this lofty goal.

Here, I feel the need to divide these “expenses” into the personal, administrative and financial aspects of my life.

To achieve the required 50 hours of educational activities, self-reflection and measuring outcomes, I really had to sacrifice many hours of personal and family time.

With the possible exception of self-reflection, it is impossible to complete the required activities during business hours.
