‘These horror incidents lined my path to becoming a GP’

I think today there is a greater awareness of bullying of medical students and junior staff than when I was at medical school in the 1980s.
I still have vivid memories of unacceptable incidents that I mumbled about under my breath at the time and then had no choice but to shrug off.
But these experiences burned deeply into my psyche. There were no safe options for reporting the wrongs that were witnessed. I wonder if it is that much different today?
One would need a sort of ombudsman, who not only dealt with the investigation of a specific complaint but then followed the whistleblower’s career to ensure that it came to no harm.
