Times are changing — and pharmacists treating UTIs may be the next step

Dr Malcolm Fisher

Maybe times have changed.

I have been following the correspondence about pharmacists treating UTIs with interest. It seems reasonable on the surface — if you consider it can take a few days to get a GP appointment or a few hours to get through ED.

(Not enough people seem to know about healthdirect, where you can get advice backed by experience and evidence. My kids tell me this is where you can get a GP if you need one and yours is not available. And it’s free.)

I met a woman at a medical conference in the US years ago who taught pharmacists at a prestigious school there.
