What makes a GP a GP – do you even qualify?
How do you know that you are a GP? Is it because of the place you work and the type of work that you do — or because of the procedures you do and the knowledge you have?
I imagine that if I were teleported back 100 years, I would not be considered a GP. I can’t deliver a baby or take out an appendix. I don’t remove tonsils and rarely see my patients in their own home.
How many things can we stop doing and still be GPs?
I recently saw a sign for an ‘ear wax removal doctor’ and another for a medical clinic solely for golfing injuries. Surely if you become this boutique, then you are no longer a GP?
