What we know about swabbing the throat when RAT-testing

Everyone is pretty used to swabbing their nose to test for COVID-19 when they have a scratchy throat or new cough.
But should people also be using rapid antigen tests (RATs) to swab their throats?
And is swabbing the throat and nose together, as some social media sources claim, more likely to accurately detect an infection because a sore throat early on is more common with Omicron infection?.
