Over the years I’ve encountered the occasional typo in a specialist’s letter that has made me smile.

Like the radiology report of a brain with an empty “cellar”, in a patient whose sella turcica was filled with cerebrospinal fluid.

I also recollect a report of a “compassion fracture”, although perhaps that was actually an update from my mother, who always prided herself on her empathy.
