Bloody hell.

So, the Medical Board of Australia has decided not to pursue the idea of forcing us practitioners older than 70 to have a regular health assessment to determine whether we are fit and/or competent to continue practising medicine.

Bugger me. I was looking forward to the challenge.

The board’s stated rationale for this backflip is that there is “no existing research demonstrating that health checks would definitively reduce notifications”.
