Why GPs need an insurance plan for the proposed CPD revamp

The recent bushfires have broken my heart, just like nearly everyone else’s. The worst part, of course, are the fatalities and serious injuries, and then, for me, comes the uninsured property damage.
Facing a known risk without investing in some insurance may be the way some people choose to live, but it is way out of my league on the anxiety scale.
What has this got to do with GPs?
Well, if they are in for a revamp of their CPD requirements, as proposed late last year by the Medical Board of Australia, it is likely that GPs across the country face the prospect of organising some patient surveys in line with the board’s plan for doctors to carry out a minimum of 12.5 hours out of 50 per year reviewing their performance.
