You want to know what’s wrong with the Cass Review? Muddle-headed, error-strewn and flawed

On Monday, we published an article by Dr Andrew Amos defending the Cass Review, an independent review of gender identity services for children that resulted in a UK ban on the use of puberty blockers for the treatment of gender dysphoria.
Dr Amos, a psychiatrist, argued the review was independent and robust, and questioned why youth gender services in Australia had not similarly restricted the use of puberty blockers.
Below we republish an extract from an analysis of the Cass Review by Australian epidemiologist Dr Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz.
Arguably the most contentious, and most discussed, aspect of the Cass Review is the impact it has had on treatments.
